Antique ebony wood bommai statue from South India. Vintage black wooden statue representing male energy of Shiva. 10 inch height . Rare collectible in good condition with nice patina.

This vintage antique male figure was hand carved & originally part of a set of 2 (male & female). Known as "bommai", these wooden dolls were gifted to a newly married couple for their future children to dress up and play with.

They were traditionally cherished & often passed on from generation to generation.

They rarely survive in such good condition and often are missing arms and have been damaged by the elements.
